Exterior cleaning in Queenscliff

Queenscliff 2096 sits in the Curl Curl ward of Northern Beaches Council. Ocean-front and first-ridge conditions here mean the heaviest salt loading on the peninsula, with glass hazing in days, rust bleeding from balcony fixings and black growth on the south walls of the Crown Road blocks. Our most-booked work in Queenscliff: strata window cleaning, strata exterior cleaning and balcony cleaning.

A dense headland of 1930s flats and 1960s to 1990s apartment blocks on Crown Road and Queenscliff Road with direct surf exposure, Inter-war bungalows on the lagoon flat, and contemporary rebuilds on the Greycliffe headland. Most of what we clean here dates from 1930s to 1990s strata, with headland rebuilds since 2000, on exposed sandstone headland between Manly Lagoon and the Pacific.

We work around Queenscliff Beach and the rock pool, Queenscliff Headland and the wormhole, Manly Lagoon mouth and Greycliffe Street steps, on streets such as Crown Road, Greycliffe Street, Queenscliff Road, Pavilion Street and Bridge Street. The defining exterior problem is the heaviest salt loading on the peninsula, with glass hazing in days, rust bleeding from balcony fixings and black growth on the south walls of the Crown Road blocks.

Homes within roughly 500 metres of the surf. Salt arrives on the nor'easter every afternoon and on southerly storms in winter, so nothing stays clean by itself: glass hazes, render streaks, stainless pits and timber greys. We schedule these homes on the shortest cycles we run anywhere in Sydney.

Field note from Queenscliff. Queenscliff's Crown Road blocks face straight into the southerly; we have measured salt deposits on their glass heavier than anywhere else we work, which is why window programs here run on six-week cycles. Nathan G, Founder

Planning and site constraints we check in Queenscliff:

  • Coastal hazard mapping on the Queenscliff headland and lagoon mouth
  • Manly Lagoon flood-planning area on the lower streets

Run-off. Anything washed off a Queenscliff property ends up in Manly Lagoon and Queenscliff Beach unless it is stopped at the kerb. Northern Beaches Council enforces the NSW EPA rule that wash water, detergent and sediment stay out of stormwater, so we bund drains, capture run-off and vacuum-recover on sealed or commercial sites. More in our stormwater guide.

Maintenance in Queenscliff

How each surface is cleaned here, and how often

Intervals are for ocean-front and first-ridge conditions. In Queenscliff we usually recommend glass every 6 to 8 weeks, soft wash every 6 to 9 months, hard surfaces annually.

Surface How we clean it in Queenscliff Typical interval here
Glass Pure water through carbon-fibre poles, frames and sills scrubbed first 6 to 8 weeks
Render Hypochlorite soft wash under 100 psi, rinse under 500 psi 6 to 9 months
Painted concrete Biocide soft wash, rust remover on fixings, low-pressure rinse 6 to 9 months
Balcony tiles Soft wash of soffits, tiles cleaned and rinsed to the drain 6 to 9 months
Stainless balustrades Non-acid stainless cleaner and passivating polish 6 to 8 weeks

These are starting points. On the quote we look at aspect, shade, irrigation and how close the property is to Manly Lagoon, then put a recommended cycle in writing. See the full Northern Beaches schedule.

Google review · Sandstone Cleaning

I recently had my brick pavers cleaned by Prestige Standard and I couldn't be happier with the results. The team was professional, punctual, and paid great attention to detail. My pavers went from looking dull and stained to fresh and almost brand new again.
