Exterior cleaning in Seaforth

Middle Harbour and Bantry Bay water-view houses on Battle Boulevard and Edgecliffe Esplanade, with a broad base of 1950s to 1970s brick and tile family homes on quarter-acre blocks across the Seaforth plateau. Most of what we clean here dates from 1950s to 1970s with constant knock-down rebuilds, on sandstone plateau dropping steeply to Bantry Bay and Middle Harbour, with Garigal National Park on the northern edge.

We work around Seaforth Oval and Bluff lookout, Bantry Bay, Seaforth shops on Sydney Road and Spit Bridge, on streets such as Battle Boulevard, Edgecliffe Esplanade, Gurney Crescent, Kirkwood Street and Ponsonby Parade. The defining exterior problem is moss and lichen on the long sandstone stairs down to the water, leaf-choked gutters on the national park edge, and mould on the shaded render of the plateau homes.

Clontarf, Seaforth, Balgowlah Heights, North Balgowlah and Fairlight look over Middle Harbour and North Harbour. Salt is moderate, humidity is high, and the streets are a mix of 1960s brick, 1990s render and recent concrete-and-glass rebuilds on steep sandstone blocks.

Field note from Seaforth. Seaforth's Bantry Bay side gets almost no afternoon sun in winter; the sandstone stairs there grow moss thick enough to be a slip hazard by July, which is when we see most of our Seaforth calls. Nathan G, Founder

Run-off. Anything washed off a Seaforth property ends up in Middle Harbour and Bantry Bay unless it is stopped at the kerb.
